Restoring Rainforests. Rebuilding Connection.

A living model of biodiversity, climate resilience and cultural renewal.

Where Ancient Forests Meet the Future

The Gondwana BioReserve is a subtropical rainforest restoration initiative in Brookfield, Queensland—15 km from Brisbane’s CBD. Inspired by the ancient Gondwanan forests and built on regenerative science, our mission is to create a thriving sanctuary that reconnects people, species and ecosystems through ecological design, digital monitoring and cultural collaboration.

AI-Generated Vision of the BioReserve

Ecological Restoration

We transform degraded peri-urban land into dense, biodiverse Miyawaki forests that accelerate canopy growth and sequester carbon.

Biodiversity Sanctuary

From endangered koalas to our ambassador 'Ritchie' the Richmond Birdwing butterfly, we’re creating safe havens for Australia’s most vulnerable species. Learn more about the recovery project.

Community & Culture

Hands-on events, school programs, and partnerships with First Nations knowledge holders put people at the centre of the restoration story.

Science & Innovation

AI planting design, drone monitoring, ecological dashboards and natural capital accounting underpin everything we do.

How It Works: Protect. Restore. Prove.

🟩 Land Protection & Monetisation

We secure and protect high-conservation-value land using Wilderlands Biodiversity Units (BDUs), enabling capital to flow directly into permanent ecological restoration.

🟫 Ecosystem Condition Monitoring

We track ecosystem health over time with Accounting for Nature (AfN) certified methods—creating transparent, science-based impact measurement.

🟦 Stakeholder Engagement

From 1m² public sponsorships to impact dashboards and co-designed events with First Nations partners, we build inclusive restoration ecosystems.

🟥 Certification & Scaling

By aligning with TNFD and ESG frameworks, we ensure our work is grant-ready, certifiable and scalable across Australia’s peri-urban fringe.

Why Now?

Australia is a global biodiversity hotspot—yet we're losing species at a world-leading rate. 90% of lowland subtropical rainforest is already gone. The time to act is now.

“This isn’t about nostalgia. It’s about necessity. We must rewild our cities and our spirits.”
— Professor James Watson

Our Method: Miyawaki Meets Modern Science

We use the Miyawaki method—globally recognised in the Yokohama Declaration—combined with AI-generated planting palettes, precision irrigation, and real-time impact dashboards. Every forest is fast-growing, fauna-targeted and certified through Accounting for Nature™. We align all plantings and soil preparation with Regional Ecosystem 12.8.3 — a remnant notophyll vine forest community native to Brookfield and the western corridor of Brisbane. This guides our tree selection, layering structure, and succession planning, ensuring our restoration efforts are authentic, biodiverse and climate-resilient.

Where We Work

The Brookfield pilot is our blueprint. The goal: scale across Australia’s peri-urban fringe—areas around 19 major cities ready for regeneration.
